Weekend Update

Saturday headed to my hair appointment and got another great cut from my stylist. One funny thing is that she's been trying to match my natural hair color by dyeing/highlighting her hair. Each time I am over there, it's a different color. This time it was almost a perfect match with the bulk of my hair, but not my natural highlights in the front. It's too funny.

After that I checked what was playing at the Bagdad, but I had already seen their next showing. So, I hopped on the bus, and headed out to the Regal 16 on Division. I was just in time to catch the next showing of 1408, the latest John Cusack flick based on a story by Stephen King. Samuel Jackson had a great part, but wasn't on the screen enough for my taste. The movie was basically a one-man show for Cusack and he really shined.

Sunday I had no plans at all, but got a call from my neighbor P, inviting me for dinner that night. I made my special tomato & Cucumber vinaigrette salad and took over a bottle of wine. He made caulflower, chicken salad (with feta and olive oil) and a bit of macaroni with broccoli. The food was great and we had a nice time chatting for a couple of hours. P had to head to bed early, because he had to get up and drive back to Seattle at 3 AM to be in time for work today.

Unfortunately, immediately after I returned home, I was stricken with some kind of stomach bug. I don't know if it was from the richness of the food at P's or my earlier snack of a quesadilla that turned out to be date stamped May 25th, but I was up most of the night in the bathroom, and ended up calling in sick today. I've been feeling better, and can't afford to call in tomorrow, so we'll see how I'm feeling when I get up. Sleeping in til noon definitely helped!
