do-over

while it is still true that i hate wednesdays, i think this wednesday has seemed superbad only because it has been like a monday and a wednesday at the same time, and that's not really worth making an exclusive post about. thus, i am transforming this post into that post about good things i threatened to make last week. furthermore, it keeps me from running regression after regression with no end.

surlygrl was here from sunday to yesterday afternoon. it was good to see her again, since there are some things i needed and wanted to discuss that she is particularly well suited to discussing and because so many changes have happened to both of us since i last saw her long, long ago. she took pictures all over town despite the cold, which felt strange, not because it is strange to take pictures, but because chris and i are strange in that we take only phone camera pictures. before we had cameras on our phones, we only took pictures of ourselves in photo booths. even our wedding pictures are the result of benevolent friends. anyway, i'm not complaining! it is great to take pictures, but i am puzzled by my lack of motivation to do so. i think i was most interested in the fact that she noticed the same things that i had noticed when first moving here, but time has made them commonplace. or homey.

moving on, we went to breakfast both days she was here (breakfast is far underrated and too infrequently indulged in), and went to the tritone one night where i ate bourbon alligator. that was delicious. unfortunately i had to go to work both monday and tuesday, but the mutter museum and the art museum were able to make up for my bad hostessing. i wish we had had more time with her here, not least because i could have skipped today at work too, although realistically my time away from work only makes the work i have to do seem more boring when i do return.

but as my regressions call, may i also say one other secret thing that makes me excited: we are looking for new apartments to move to.
