i think philadelphia has the most pathetic response to snow ever. it reminds me of nothing so much as my own response to snow - to freak out. the thing is, as far as i can tell it snows here every single year. you would think that some sort of "infrastructure" or "plan" would be in place. yesterday i listened to some man who had been put in charge of prepping for the incoming inclement weather say that his big plan was to throw down some more rock salt. it snowed last night, yet there were no plows this morning. it is as though philadelphia grew up in hawaii.
sheets and chunks of ice have been flying off the hospital roof all day. i have been watching this snowplow trying to plow up what i know to be a curb, albeit one covered in snow. my boss isn't here anyway, i'm going home!
