Theme Of The Week: My Favourite Player
Well, this one's a no brainer...
My favourite player is:
Derek Jeter
So, why do I like him?
- He just goes out there and plays the game. He does his thing; doesn't make a fuss about his successes, stats or breaking records and doesn't dwell on errors or bad at-bats. He seems to work hard on his game to continually try to make improvements. I guess I just think he has a great work ethic.
- I love the fact that he's not a power hitter. To be honest, I think way too much importance is placed on the long ball and would much prefer to see runs put together with a string of good quality at-bats. He can hit them out of there for sure, but he's mostly a singles hitter and hey, it's worked well for him for over a decade in the bigs.
- I just think he plays with a lot of class and dignity when there are players who...well...haven't. *coughs*
- He has the same last name as me. I thought this was so cool when I was a kid, seriously. And I still think it's kinda cool actually. =P *blush*
Oh, and I do think he's kinda good looking. And he has a great ass. XD
