My favorite player is Brooks Raley.
He's a left handed pitcher. He's a very good pitcher and works quickly. He was our Friday starter the past two years (his freshman and sophomore years).
He's a really good hitter, too. He was batting second in our lineup the last part of last year. There was a very long streak of games where he reached first at least once each game.
He's fast. Speedy. I call in Brooks on Wheels. There are so many times I've watched him beat out a throw from short to first that would have gotten anybody else out. He steals bases like nobody's business. I watched him hit an inside-the-park-homerun. And the speed helps him get to fly balls in the outfield. Because he plays outfield, too.
And from everything I've heard about him, he's a competitor. He wants to win. He plays all out every day, and I love that.
Plus, he's cute.
I'm going to miss him. He was a sophomore eligible for the draft. He went in the sixth round to the Cubs and just recently signed. So you Cubs fans... hope you see him in Chicago.
