i've been lurking here for a while, and i figured i might as well go ahead and do this...
Name: e. (i'm slightly paranoid about real name and internet, so hopefully first initial is satisfactory)
Location: currently enemy territory (a.k.a. new york), but originally from southern rhode island.
Age: 24
Birthday: 29 november
Favorite team(s): boston red sox
Favorite players: i seem to have a thing for third basemen (excepting youk) - i loved billy mueller, love mike lowell and jed lowrie. i have a deep and abiding love of mike timlin that knows no logic or reason. i also love josh beckett, and, despite that he routinely kicks boston's ass, i have the utmost respect and admiration for roy halladay.
Favorite baseball memory: when i was little, we would go up to pawsox games. i think we got in free or cheap with my brother's cub scout troop or something. i don't really remember the specifics, but i'm absolutely convinced i saw mo vaughn play at mccoy stadium in pawtucket - but i could be making that up.
Favorite part of the game: i actually love that tense, stomach churning feeling right before the last out. that moment of holding your breath and digging your nails into your palms to keep yourself grounded. even more than that though, i love the next moment (if my team has won), when it's over, and everyone goes nuts and everyone is hugging one another, and it seems like there isn't a single bad thing in the world.
What made you get into the game? i'm not sure originally. i was so small when i went to pawsox games, and then i sort of fell out of it for a long time, because my dad and brother are more into basketball and football, but mostly basketball. i got back into it when i first went away to school in 2002 though. i was in pittsburgh, and i hated it, so to combat homesickness, i watched any new england sports i could. then 2003 happened, and even more amazingly, 2004, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Any hobbies? (photography, writing, stat keeping, etc.): since moving to new york, i've started scoring the red sox games i can get on the radio. i also make graphics and have a fic journal, but i try to keep my fic and rl journals separate.
