Oh, Come On!
(Look, I know what I've said all my life about keeping my politics to myself, but I just can't. Not about this subject.) Oh, c'mon, people!! You are too smart to fall for this! Sure, she's pretty and apparently able to give birth and reclaim her figure; sure she is a dynamic speaker and all that; and I guess her eyeglasses are quite fashionable (although, to me, they look like something worn in a '60's Matt Helm movie); but you aren't really this duped, are you? The pundits can't be right! You don't really think she "held her own" in the debate tonight, right? You are more aware now then you've ever been in the history of this country! Wake up!
I mean, really! This woman's obviously got the ethics of a pop tart! She fired a guy for refusing to fire her sister's ex!! I don't care if he was the worst husband on the planet--she used her position as Governor to try to get him axed! Now she's trying to ignore the investigation, just sticking her fingers in her ears and yelling "La, la, la!" when the subpoenas come calling! Where are the ethics there?
Her 17 year old ends up pregnant: You conservative-types caved on this one, big time! There you all are, sitting all grouped together on the bench for the short bus, saying in a quiet voice: "Oh, it's so good that she's supporting her daughter! How nice that she's helping her daughter deal with her crisis!" Really? If that was one of the opposition's kids, you'd all be screaming: WHERE WERE HER PARENTS? IS THIS THE KIND OF PERSON YOU WANT RUNNING THE COUNTRY? ONE WHO ALLOWS TEENAGE FORNICATION? THIS PERSON HAS NO MORALITY!! And then you'd all be firing up the torches and grabbing the pitch forks, wouldn't you?
Conservative-types: You sold out. Shame on you.
THEN: Care-bear Katie Couric gets a hold of her, and she ends up a better parody than the one done on Saturday Night Live. "I'll get somebody to get back to you on that"? Yeah, here's a future leader of the Free World! I'm feeling safe, aren't you? (I wonder if it would be a good idea to surround my bed with razor wire.......) And what do the conservatives say? "Oh, you have to give her a break--she's new at this!" That would be because you all were so kind to Hillary, right?
Shame on you.
You've gone back on your own morality to try and elect a team that does NOT stand up to your scrutiny; does NOT meet your standards: does NOT believe as you do. Just so you can prevent a Democrat getting into the White House.
Shame on you.
I've never agreed with much of anything a Conservative said or stood for, but at least in the past, I could respect the Conservative movement for standing up for its beliefs. And although I know that my opinion doesn't matter a tinker's dam to you, I've lost any and all respect I ever held for who you are and what you stand for. You all can flip-flop with the best of them.
