i haven't written in a while, but something just struck me and i feel the need to write it down somewhere.
today i held an event with guest speakers and a documentary about the genocide in uganda and what people can do to help. there were representatives from three non-profits in san diego that do aid work in eastern africa. later tonight, i recommended a good counselor to someone dealing with a terminally ill family member.
what i did not do today was go to class or get any homework done.
i realized what makes me happy in life is using the resources and knowledge i have to help others find the help they need and inspiring the people around me to help others.
while one friend finishes grad school today, i imagine the obstacles between my life now and a time when i have the knowledge, resources, and skills to help others at the level that i would like to. i feel nothing but impatience and excitement. but mostly impatience.
