What can I say. LOVED IT. I gave it 5 stars on Netflix, not because it was a perfect film, but because I enjoyed it so darn much. Three pointers:
1. Try to avoid hearing ANYTHING about this movie before you see it. Go into it as blind as you can.
2. After you're done watching it, be sure to watch the extras on the DVD. They're terrific.
3. If you watch REC and you like it, be sure to watch "Mulberry Street." It too is covered in awesome, and the two movies share some fine qualities.
Note: This is a Spanish film. There is an American remake called "Quarantine," and I actually do plan to see it. Why? Well, mostly because I love love LOVE Jennifer Carpenter. She was amazing--STUNNINGLY good--in "The Exorcism of Emily Rose." And you know what? I don't even like most demonic possession movies. When you're raised agnostic, the premise just isn't that scary. But the gurl made me BELIEVE!
Besides, she's Dexter's little sister.
