This weekend

Okay by "this weekend" I mean last Saturday.

I went to one of my dear friend Barb's infamous "Chick Night" parties. We ate really delicious chow, talked for hours (we ARE chix you know), made Sculpey art (I ain't tellin' you what I made, but it was completely obscene) and some of us drank. A lot. My girl Elise and I very nearly put down a bottle of Redrum all by ourselves. Somehow, drinking that much rum makes watching "Thelma and Louise" really, really funny.  Funnier than usual, I mean.

Sunday I watched a movie called "Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon." It was a howlingly funny poke at/homage to slasher flicks. Cleverly written, well acted, and even a little bit scary toward the end. If you rent it (and I suggest you do, if you're a horror fan) be sure to watch all the way through the credits.

Oh, and watch the deleted scenes. There's one with the character "Eugene" that completely rocks.

And that guy who plays Leslie is just one adorable little hunk of psycho. I mean YUMMAY!

My favorite exchange from the movie:

"There's a lot of yonic imagery in our business." (Meaning epic psycho serial killing)
"Yonic?"
"The opposite of phallic. You know. Girl parts."
