Yeah! Well I am alive. I haven't posted since August. But here I am, in the Periodicals, meaning to study... but instead updating LJ.
School is in full swing. But of course I decided to have a nice fall off my longboard, and get myself out of school for a good week or so from having a concussion. SO consequently, I have loads of work to make up.
I was meaning to just have a nice ride down Provo Canyon with my friends and our longboards. It was a bit past midnight, and I didn't see a small dip in the road. My board got caught in the dip, stopped dead and I flew off my board, landing directly on my head. Completely knocked out. I don't remember it at all. Steph and Matt were there when it happened, they had to tell me how it all happened- it was nuts. I hit my head pretty dang hard, considering the fact that I can't even remember how it all happened. I was rushed to the ER. My room mates and the guys across the street in 420 were there at the hospital all night, all freakin out for me. Rachel stayed with me in the ER practically the entire time, Tricia came in and stayed with me for a while too. I was bleeding profusely, but I was eventually all stitched (15 stitches in the head) and cleaned up (for the most part, my head was pretty drenched with blood still), and they sent me off back home around 7 AM. I suffered a level 3 concussion, and so I was on Percocet, which kept me out of it for a while. I slept a lot, and missed a lot of school. But it gave Mom an excuse to come see me, she was there by 11 the morning after it happened.
I was treated so well all along my road to recovery. People brought me goodies and dinner. I'm not 100% yet, still on pain killers and I don't quite have all my energy back. I got my stitches out last week, but there is a nice scar on my head, and my black eye is still healing. BUT compared to how I was, I'm loads better... sheesh.
The weather is nice for longboarding today. Gotta get a helmet first, though.
in the ER :(
I don't think I was awake, here... my eyes were just glazed over. I remember first waking up in the hospital, having no clue what happened, and feeling a bit freaked out about being all strapped up. I had the neck brace on, and my body was all strapped onto the bed.
the wound. i had just taken a shower to try and wash out all the blood that was in my hair. It took me up til now to finally get my scalp fully clean.
Now. I have the patch over my scar. My black eye is getting better. Time to get a helmet.
