Hannah wore her Sgt. Pepper shirt to her doctor appointment today and the pediatrician was so impressed. He had a good discussion on favorite songs, albums, etc. He said he has a whole collection of Beatles ties and he'll wear one the next time he sees her name on the patient list for the day.
I have a lot more good music on my computer. I think I have enough to fill up three ipods, haha.
As for good music I have recently discovered - try The Strokes. I was a little late jumping on the bandwagon in listening to The Strokes, but they rock.
Also Belle & Sebastian. My favorite songs are called like "I'm a Cuckoo" and "If She Wants Me"
I will hook you up with my music if you want when you come in Feb. I think we have a lot of the same taste in music, not everything, but a lot.
w00t. Finish up that essay, yo. Then we can party it up oldskool-like.
Bands you might like... I know you like Weezer, so do you know Rooney? They have been compared quite a bit to Weezer, but I don't really see the comparison. I also really like Tremelo. They are on an independent label, but I have loved every one of their songs. Now I am going to go check out Redwall. I am like you--I think there must be so many really cool bands out there dying for an audience. I just have to find them!
p.s. Have you heard Frank Zigmunt and the Planeteers? They ROCK and their lead singer is pretty cute, even though he can't sing.
Yes I LOVE Rooney! I almost saw them in concert here (I had tickets and everything) but then they cancelled for some reason, and it was a BIG bummer because I like them VERY much... and I can see the Weezer resemblance in SOME of their songs...
The Redwalls are good- but their last CD was Parental Advisory, or what not... But if you buy it from iTunes you can see which songs (by the lyrics) merit that label and choose which ones to listen to. And their older CD is good too and does NOT have the parental advisory.
I will have to check out Frank Zugmunt and the Planeteers! Thanks a bunch! :D
Frank Zigmunt is Robby's band. You will have to look hard to find them! They are actually pretty good--took 2nd place at the school's Battle of the Bands. They are ska which I surprisingly like!
hmm..a good band ive recently started to listen to is kings of leon. you've probably allready heard of them, but i really like them. roberto says they have a bob dylan style to them... but i dunno, theyre still pretty indidual, they sound like themselves which is good. the more i listen to them, the more i love them. their newst cd is "explicit" but their old one "youth and youg manhood" is really good, thats the one i have.
Yes I have heard of them, but I haven't given them a listen, I will have to do that. Thanks for the input, Tori! I miss hanging out with you... lets do something SOON! We must!
