This morning before school I went shopping because I just couldn't fathom doing anything - like going to the grocery store - after school. This state testing is just exhausting. So I picked up my Snapple and diet Pepsi and the all important chocolate.

Heck, I'm surprised teachers are even allowed to breathe with parents getting upset about every little thing these days.

I would have totally worked hard in my classes for a candy reward!

I'm not sure if it's a state mandate or a federal thing, but we're not allowed to serve any food in school that has sugar as the first or second ingredient. No more birthday cupcakes...bust out the fruit platter. Though, I do have to say, that the students I've had really enjoy the fruit platters. And I can understand wanting to encourage healthier food choices in children. But the occassional Starburst shouldn't be a big deal!
