A colleague said to me today that I looked "just like a possum".
Now, personally, I don't think there is anything possum-like about me, and I wasn't sure how to take this. I spent some time trying to see how this comment could come out as a compliment, but came up blank really.
So I asked her what it was about me that she thought made me look like a possum. She just looked at me with exasperation and said "I didn't say possum, I said blossom!"
Okay, that I can work with. I can see blossom as a compliment.
Perhaps I really need to start thinking seriously about hearing aids.
