Apples n' Tapas n' Food on a Stick

Despite the warm weather (and you won't hear me complaining!), this weekend felt like the start of Fall. We went apple picking at Larriland Farm on Saturday afternoon with both sets of parents. The farm was huge and sprawling. We picked mostly Suncrisps, Staymans, and Empires. Then we shopped at the store, got apple fritters, and I bought a small pumpkin. Afterwards, we went to the Sugarloaf Crafts Festival for mostly "window" shopping, although S did buy a necklace. Lots of good stuff and yummy food.

On Sunday, we went to the Renaissance Festival for the last time this season. It was WAY crowded, you could hardly walk sometimes. But we met up with r_is_for_rose, gbcrush, another friend of ours, and S's parents. We saw a couple shows, shopped, and ate...a typical faire day. Unfortunately we didn't get to see a joust this season because the sun was just too strong at the time. We left the Faire around 2:30pm and headed home to rest before going out to a friend's surprise birthday party dinner at Jaleo in Bethesda. The surprise worked out very well as we all stood against the wall behind our table and waved to the birthday girl as her wife led her over. She looked a bit shocked :) The food was great...we got a ton of tapas and pitchers of sangria. S & I met a lot of cool people, a bunch of whom are theatrically-involved. It was a very fun evening and we crashed hard when we got home.

They told us to do this, seriously.
