Wobbly in the Woods

Today's been really busy and we had to deal with the interview from hell at work, so I'm updating now. (Curious about the interview from hell? Let's just say the candidate asked us more questions than we asked him, among other things)

This past weekend was nice and busy, and I think we ate almost every meal out. Not good for one's pocketbook, but it happens. Friday evening we went to Chevy's to meet up with something like 18 other people from our local GLBT group. It was a great event with lots of new faces, good conversation, and chips and queso. Mmmm.

On Saturday, our next door neighbors joined us in attending Wine in the Woods in Columbia, MD. I think this may have been my 5th year attending. My parents met us there this time since they live so close now. We did a lot of tastings right off the bat, then got food and hung out on our picnic blanket. Then it got really, really crowded. The wine booths were starting to get impossibly packed, so we bought the two bottles we wanted and left. We went to the Cheesecake Factory for an early dinner. Cheesecake is great for absorbing wine :)

On Sunday morning, we went to brunch with two other couples we had previously met at the Rainbow DC Families conference a few weeks back. We went to Eggspectation in Silver Spring and had a nice meal together. Then some shopping and back home to rest before going out in the evening to hear ptpgrad and her musical partner perform their act (normally done at the MD Renaissance Festival) at a coffee house. The place was packed with their friends and we acted as the live audience for the CD they're creating. It was a fun, bawdy time for all.

We arrived to a golden wine god, and I sampled his...grapes

Our neighbors chillaxing

Cheers!

No, that stilt-walking man is not attacking a poor boy in a wheelchair. He offered to rinse people's glasses with his water gun. Wait a minute...what was that boy doing with a wine glass anyway?
