Warm soup, warm hearts

This weekend was one of those relaxing, rejuvenating ones. Friday night we decided we felt lazy but didn't want to stay in, so we went to Borders for some coffee, reading, trashy magazines, and shopping. We were disappointed to find out that they charge for their wireless internet though :P

On Saturday we went to Savage Mill. It's a historic mill turned into art galleries and retail. The whole place was decked out for Xmas, complete with lights, strolling musicians, and champagne and cookies later on. Of course, that was after we had already eaten at Ram's Head Tavern and indulged in a coffee-glazed "snowman" eclair to die for at Bonaparte Breads. No cookies and champagne needed.
Later on, we had a couple friends over to take part in a s'mores roast on our fire pit. Once we got the fire going, it gave off the perfect amount of heat to keep us all warm (and Hazel, too) in the 40 degree weather. We're definitely going to have to do that again.

Yesterday we hung out at home, a lazy Sunday morning, until it was time to head up to Gaithersburg to B+L's place for dinner and movie night. We, and 3 other friends of theirs, were served a fabulous meal of freshly baked bread, pumpkin soup, chili in squash bowls, apple pie, and lemon ginger cupcakes. Then we settled down to watch Ratatouille.

Perfect weekend and to top it off, a 3-day work week :)

weekends, food, get togethers
