Imposed vacation: Day 1

Feb 27, 2007 20:30

Today felt good. It felt great actually. Like for once, someone...some company...doesn't own me. I slept in a little bit but still got up early enough to watch S drink her coffee and send her on her way. I was online a little, showered, went grocery shopping (it was very uncrowded and all the employees said hi to me), prepared the marinade for tonight's dinner (basil-marinated chicken breasts- and I hardly EVER cook), took Hazel on a walk, read, cleaned, stopped by the ceramics studio, watched some tv. I told S that my day was so nice and relaxing, I may not ever go back to work again ;) And didn't she like having a kept woman at home, ready to serve her dinner when she got back?

On the other hand, I have all this lovely free time and no plans. I could go anywhere...so where should I go? The fact that I'd be alone makes it a bit less tempting, but still. It's a little unfortunate that it's cold out or I'd probably spend more time in nature and at parks. If it warms up some I will.

Oh, and I found out something amusing. My friend, C, works at my new place of employment. When I told her my start date, she said "Oh my god, so you'll have one full week of work, and then you get another 3 days off for spring break!" I totally didn't realize that! Damn, I have a lot of free time these days :)
