Something beautiful

In all the excitement and insanity that was my day yesterday, I never got to recap my weekend, which is much more pleasant subject matter.

On Friday we took the day off to go to the American Craft Council show at the Baltimore Convention Center. The number of booths displaying people's arts & crafts was huge...something like 4,000. We walked around for about 6 hours looking at all of the beautiful things. My computer doesn't want me to link the images, but that main link is worth clicking on to see some of the amazing work. My ceramics instructor who had given me free tickets was there with her stuff as well and seemed happy to chat with someone she knew. Things got a little hectic when the fire alarm was set off (by mistake), but we just ran across the street to eat lunch when that happened. Many of the artists unfortunately had to leave their work to get out of the building- hopefully nothing was taken.

On Saturday, S went to rehearsal and I went to the studio to glaze a couple pieces and finish up some others. I'll check tonight to see if any of my things are done so I can post pictures. That evening, we went out to dinner and then to see a show- Ruddigore, by Gilbert & Sullivan. We knew the lead actor and S is in her new show with the lead actress, so it was nice seeing them both on stage. The show was well done, although at times a little hard to follow, but enjoyable overall.
