"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world." What is the pattern of this world? Is there really a difference between the way people who don't know Jesus live, and the way that people who do know him live? Should there be? Of course there should. We shouldn't be focused on us and ourselves, but rather God and others, right?

Why is it ( Read more... )

There's an easy difference between you and many that follow faith. A lot of people, in their way, trying to touch people, it becomes a sort of pushiness for everyone else to conform and believe what they do. With you, Melissa, you have an acceptence for everybody just as they are, whether they believe as you do, or not. Don't you?

"How do you keep close to God in a world that neither knows him nor cares, and yet needs Him desperately?"Whilst you know what you believe and you have your faith, there are many out there that, despite what they may think of themselves, they don't hold true to their faith ( ... )

Aw Jenni (Jef?)! Thanks so much for bothering to write a comment! Thought i'd had comments disabled! Then realized that i'd posted the same thing twice! Silly ole me.

Hmmm i have a lot to say about what you wrote so bear with me if you can be bothered reading! And i won't be offended if you don't agree with what i say ok?

"you have an acceptence for everybody just as they are, whether they believe as you do, or not. Don't you?" Well........ i hope so. But i have to be honest and say that i'm pretty judgemental sometimes, whether it's to people who believe the same things as i do or not. But yeah Jesus loves everyone, so i can't not, really.

What d'you think it means to choose to follow God? Is it about going to mass, or going to church to you? Coz i know from reading the Bible, that Jesus didn't care about that, really. In fact the people he was most angry with were the religious leaders who thought they knew it all, yet their hearts were far away from him.

"whilst someone chooses not to follow God, they may be perfectly happy ( ... )

I really enjoyed reading Jenni's comment, and your reply. I've always found you to be very respectful when it comes to other people's beliefs, and very sensible when it comes to your own. As Jenni said, a lot of people do try to impose their beliefs on others...I think your way is the right way, because you're happy to teach other people about what you think and believe, but you never try to force them to agree with you. I think that means you're following your chosen religion far more accurately than a lot of so-called Christians do.

I have a lot of respect for you :-)

Aw really?! Thank you! A thought of wee me actually entered your mind? *flushes* Am well honoured! =D

i don't think i can say that my way is the right way, nor can i really say that i "chose my religion"... i'm just rather amazed at God's grace in revealing himself to me. It's definitely not something you can force on people coz 1)they have to be open and willing to God and 2)He has to speak to them. Does that make any sense? =l

Anyway thank you for the kind remarks! =)
