What an awesome story! I loved the listing of the many plants Kirk has had to contend with during their mission, kind of reminded me of the "Twelve Days of Christmas" song. And Spock, for all his morals, can be a sneaky man. I'm so glad Jim learned to like his present in the end.
(Also, I think it's neat because I have a lucky bamboo plant that I got as a present and named Kirk. Because really, who's luckier than Kirk?)

I had 12 days of Christmas in my head but thought starting it at 12 might be pushing it :)
I love that you named your bamboo plant after Kirk. I love plants but am incapable of keeping them alive.
(I spend all December mentioning this casually to my students to avoid getting any for Christmas)

I was thinking of the scariest plant I could imagine to freak out Kirk and then I HAD to go on Youtube and repeatedly watch Little Shop of Horrors and sing along (for research of course!).
