Not long ago I wrote
this entry about the president of Heavy Ink Comics who thought it was okay to not only joke about, but advocate the assassination of all of Congress.
Well, it seems
his words caught up with him. No doubt the tinfoil-hat contingent of gun owners will scream that this is in violation of civil rights, this is the government taking control of our lives, etc.
No. This is a logical, necessary consequence of an individual broadcasting that murder is an acceptable means of correcting one's perception of problems within one's own government. Like it or not, he threatened elected officials of every state in the union and encouraged the populace at large to carry out his "argument".
And yeah, I did read his clarifications in his blog. He wasn't joking, he wasn't speaking hypothetically, he specifically defended his position and he was not at all repentant about it. Which is all well and good, but this really should have come to no surprise to him.
