Putting "Joe the Plumber" into perspective for a moment

With all due respect to Mr. Wurzelbacher, whom I don't know and toward whom I bear no ill will...

There seemed to be an effort to turn this particular gentleman into an "Everyman" of sorts. I'm rather pleased to see that the effort in general did not go over terribly well among the debate viewing audience. Regardless of Mr. Wurzelbacher's hopes and ambitions for the future, the fact remains that this is an individual who stands to make over $250,000 per year.

My husband and I both work full-time. We have no children, and we rent an apartment. We both hold Master's Degrees and currently occupy middle-management positions at our places of employment. I will go so far as to say that we are doing well within the purview of our chosen careers.

$250,000 is equal to what both of us, together, working full-time, would gross in four and a half years.

Just thought I'd throw that out there.
