This is what they meant when they said "people will die". They meant it, you know. They weren't just tryin' ta scare y'all. It wasn't a test.
Tragic? Yes, for the innocents who suffered because of another's arrogance/ignorance/downright stupidity.
Some people who stayed - especially the aged - chose their end, I'm sure. To some small extent, I can respect that and I wish them peace. As for the others -
There was a way out. You had time. You chose brick, mortar, and ego over your life - or worse, others' lives.
I hope your sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends who were trapped with you forgave your idiocy and at least died still loving you. I hope your pets didn't suffer. I hope you were actually prepared to die for this decision. I hope the ones you left behind find your body quickly so they at least have closure.
