Even if everyone is on time and the fittings are done well in advance tux places are notorious for sending out the wrong size in something. Personally if anyone is wondering why guys aren't excited about this process, how exciting is the prospect of wearing rented clothing? I photograph 30 weddings a year on average, and at least half of them the men rent tuxedos. More often than not something is an obvious misfit for at least one person. For the amount of money people spend on these things I wish people would look more into just buying suits. Places like Macy's are always having awesome sales on suits and suit separates. Some of best ones I've seen are buy one get one free. Mens Wearhouse has sales like this too. If everyone goes in at the same time and splits the costs most of the time the guys can walk away with fitted suits they can keep for the same price or less than tuxedo rentals.

Anyways, not trying to derail your post, but if no one has put anything down at this point it might be something worth considering.

For what it's worth your friends in your wedding party rarely understand how important this stuff is unless they've been married themselves.
