Wedsite and STD Questions

Aug 03, 2011 23:43

Here's the situation (and I may have mentioned this before): The one thing my Lawrence wanted out of the wedding was to have a tiny ceremony with only our immediate family, 3 or 4 close friends each and my grandparents (cause if I didn't invite them, there'd be major fallout) So how could I argue? He gave me free reign for the reception though. So the ceremony guest list is 20 people (including the wedding party) while the reception guest list is at 90.

I am now looking to start building my wedsite and I'm not sure what all would be ok to include. Only 4 out of the 20 people invited to the ceremony would probably use the wedsite since the other 16 are immediate family, in the wedding party or under the age of 5.
Do I explain somewhere about why people weren't invited to the ceremony?
Should I describe the ceremony on the wedsite?
Do I do the whole wedding party introduction that's common on other wedsite?
I guess what I'm asking is, if you were invited to only the reception of a wedding, what kinds of things would you expect or be offend to find on the wedsite?

I'm thinking of including the following pages:
Our story
The wedding party
FAQ
Directions and parking
Registries
RSVP

Am I missing anything?

As for the save the dates, I need some script writing help. I'm planning on making a video to email to everyone. My dad has been doing video for the entirety of my life and then some so he'll be the one working with us but knowing my dad, he'll have me be the director. My vision is to do sort of a music video of Lawrence and I being cute and using a white board in the shots to convey the information. I just don't know what the white boards should say. So far, I have:
Amy and Lawrence are getting married! Save the date 8-11-12 so that you can celebrate their marriage with them in Steilacoom, WA. For more information visit (insert address of wedsite). Keep an eye on the mail for the official invitation.
Thoughts? Additions? Changes? Does it convey reception-only? Also, any suggestions for an upbeat love song to use for this?

ETA: How bout a little less formal wording for the STD? Like:
Amy and Lawrence are getting married! We're having a party in Steilacoom, WA and want you there! Save the date 8-11-12. For more information visit (insert address of wedsite). Keep an eye on the mail for the official invitation.

save the date: etiquette, wedding website, save the date
