Initial post
here, for the full refresher. Teal deer version - getting married May 21st, in Canmore Alberta. We had the venue, catering and officiant booked and that was it.
Let's see...where to begin? We finalized our photographer, and got engagement shots done. Just finally put those up on our website, along with updating a bunch of other info.
- Dress dilemma (do I get the real one I can't try on, or the knockoff I can) was decided and I ordered my dress (Mori Lee 2412). Just yesterday I finally decided on shoes and jewelry. I put together a graphic of the three (well, not all the jewelry, just the necklace) to help me decide. Dress should be here in another month or so, and the accessories are coming in next week.
- Tuxes are picked out and ordered, and all but one have had their fittings. This includes my attendants, as they're all male.
- One of the two girls (one bringing rings, one flowers) has ordered her dress, and we're about to order for the other one shortly. Turns out blue and purple is a hell of a tricky combination of colours to work with when they're not pastels. We ended up going with David's Bridal Horizon and Regency (it's only one flowergirl dress we got from DB, but the tuxes are from the Canadian branch of Men's Warehouse).
- Rings were ordered and have arrived (junojewelry.com was awesome to deal with)
- Our registry with the landscaping place near us is finalised and our department store one will be finished this week
- Invites should hopefully be done in a week or so. Paper/envelopes are purchased, wording is finalised and graphic selected; we're just tweaking the design. We still have to review the guest list this week as well.
- We're getting blocks at two hotels, one more upscale and one more budget option. The budget one has been decided, and we're going out there to stay at our top choice for the upscale option this weekend as a late Valentine's Day celebration.
- We have an appointment with our likely flower vendor next week
- Baker is confirmed
- I've got a friend who's going to DJ, and I'm hoping to confirm the equipment logistics in the next week or two. This actually worked out well - he's a friend I know from theatre, but I don't really hang out with him outside of that (which is was our cutoff for the invite list). But this way I can have him there without really breaking the seal on that whole set of people, and it'll be less than hiring a DJ. So win-win as far as I'm concerned. Plus he's really entertaining and has spent a lot of time as a sound technician, so he should do a very good job.
If any other area brides want to chat about what vendors I'm going with or not, I'm happy to.

Currently working on finding a hairdresser/makeup person, which is freaking me out - might do a separate post on that. Also starting to work on some smaller details of decor and timelines and such now that a lot of the major stuff is getting sorted. We're going to Mexico for a friend's wedding in a couple of weeks, so I've been trying to get a lot of this done before we leave.
