I've received at least 3 or 4 save-the-dates inside of Christmas cards over the last 5-6 years. It's something very common among friends of mine who had June - September weddings, so I say go for it. Two birds, one stone and all that.

I have gotten a lot of STD's in Christmas cards!

Usually they just insert the STD in the card, or place it behind/in front of the card if it's about the same size.

We included our STD magnets in our christmas cards, which were postcards from Vista Print. I think people will understand based on your date that it's not a holiday wedding, I say go for it!

I've never gotten one with xmas cards, but I've only received one STD and it was for an October wedding and they sent them around April I think (though we're getting married this October and if we had gotten engaged before christmas I would have sent them with xmas cards, we got engaged three weeks after xmas).

I would suggest just putting the STD card in with the xmas card. It might look a little weird to tell them to STD for a June wedding on a Christmas themed card, but that's just my opinion.
