Intro post 1st progress post 75 days out. EEK.
My jr. bridesmaids have their dresses ordered. Unfortunately, I don't have pictures of the dresses they picked. I need to follow up and make sure they've actually gotten their dresses. My flower girl's dress has also been ordered.
We're printing out our own invitations. My stepmom found 100 invites with envelopes, response card, and response envelopes for $30! Score! Plz help with the wording/format. Any suggestions on improvment? (Font will probably be Edwardian Script.)

Lake Wheeler Waterfront
6*** Lake Wheeler Road
Raleigh, North Carolina
* Reception to follow.
The official title of our venue is "Lake Wheeler Waterfront Program Center". It's a mouthful and not very pretty, do you think I can get away with just "Lake Wheeler Waterfront"? Especially if we're providing the address?
Hallelujah, thank you, Jesus! My parents have found the means to cover our reception food and wedding cake. Since our budget is so tight, I was afraid I was going to have to do hardcore DIY stuff, including my cake. I
posted about the cake before. I wanted cheesecake and was planning on doing it myself. Several of you advised AGAINST this undertaking and I have definitely taken those suggestions to heart. Fortunately, I don't HAVE to worry about it anymore. We're still looking at going the Costco route, though. Looked into the Cheesecake Factory, but go figure, they're not very wedding catering friendly. So I mostly just need to give input as to what I want for the rest of the reception food and my stepmom eager to do the rest. :) SUCH a relief.
Still trying to figure out what to do about music. It'll probably just be laptop-driven background music. The venue doesn't have a sound system to speak of, so we're looking into borrowing some stuff from friends or
renting some speakers. Have been building a song list for the reception and pre-wedding music. My fiancé still wants there to be some sort of dancing. But we're less than two months out and we haven't even started LOOKING into dancing lessons. (And we need them, like whoa.) So he's probably more optimistic about this than he realizes.
I blocked La Quinta Inn and Hotel Sierra for out of towns guests. Hotel Sierra and really snazzy and relatively cheap! This one makes me happy. ^_^
Had a preliminary meeting with the florist, who is a friend of my parents. He told me wanted to barter with me: he'll do the wedding if I help with the floral shop's website. SCORE!
Pretty much finished registering with Target and Bed Bath & Beyond. Even though we have a LOT of overlap between the two stores, we still don't have the recommended number of gifts. It's hard for either of us to request much "fluff". We mostly asked my bed stuff, towels, and kitchen stuff. Oh well.
Please look over our wedding website! It still needs some polishing, particularly in the bridal party page. (Dude, it's like pulling teeth to get my fiancé to contribute. :P) But here it is. Please let me know if you notice any glaring errors.
http://www.weddingwire.com/JeremyAndAngie/ And that's an update on last's progress report's to-do list. I've also been working on making origami roses! My fiancé and I officially became an item a few days before my birthday. For my birthday, he gave me a beautiful origami rose. :) Now we're making a bunch! We're going to use those to decorate the reception and then hand them out as favors.
I've also purchased my bridemaids' gifts. I didn't go the formal route, instead I got things that would reflect my own quirkiness and appreciation for my gals. My MOH gets a Fleur de Lis wine bottle stopper from Louisiana. One BM gets a "I put ketchup on my ketchup." t-shirt. The other BM gets a ninja star coat hanger from
ThinkGeek.com. My flower girl is getting a book about how awesome it is to be a flower girl, lol. I still need to get gifts for my jr. bridesmaids (my little sisters). I think one is going to get an iTunes gift card. I don't know about the other. What do you get teenagers that are just to cool for life? lol
My fiancé finally asked his last groomsman to actually be a groomsman. So we have a complete bridal party! He and I have started looking into tux rentals.
Also, one of my bridesmaid is out of the country. We offered to order a dress for her, but she insists that she'd rather find something herself in Mexico. So I sent her swatches of the colors we're using. The thing is, she's in grad school and apparently it's keeping her quite busy. Last I heard (a couple of weeks ago), she hadn't found a dress. Should I be worrying? Less than 3 months out and she doesn't have a dress? I mean, she's in Mexico, I guess she could have someone MAKE a dress for less than she could buy one here. I dunno, she's very capable with life in general, I'm sure she'll come through. I'm just getting a little nervous.
Anything else? Not that I can think of right now.
New to-do list (for the next 2 months, OMG, help me God. lol):
- Finish polishing wed-site
- Finalize tuxedo rentals and somehow lasso groomsmen in to be fitted and whatnot.
- Look into wedding bands. (My fiance wants to MAKE our wedding bands. Which would be awesome, except, again, I'm not sure he's aware of the time crunch we're encountering.)
- Contact the officiant and set up a time to meet and go over ceremony stuff.
- Find somewhere to live after we get married!
- Look into hairstyles and follow up with stylist.
- Get jr. bridesmaids gifts.
- Figure out rehearsal lunch (waiting for people to get back to me).
- Follow up on bridesmaids dresses (make sure jr. bridesmaids have their dresses, flower girl, and BM in Mexico)
- Make up a list of pictures I'd like our photographers (friend from college and fiance's brother, both with a hobby in photography) to take.
- Look into dancing lessons
- Follow up with florist
- Follow up with baker
- Look into honeymoon stuff.
That's a long to-do list. BLARGH. I should go to bed. lol
