I'm currently planning on doing my own hair for the wedding. This is the 3rd time I've done the style, but I wasn't able to get decent shots of it without help. Day-of I'll have my mom and MOH with me to help make sure it's even and maybe get the ends to curl a little tighter.

I'm not sure how I could do the second picture's curls without cutting my hair short? Unless you meant just on the ends? I might could do that; I'd have to see if my MOH has a straightner and a curling iron, as I own neither. ;)

Now, you would blow dry your hair before you add the curls so you wouldn't need to worry about brushing your curls (I have that problem too). And you can backcomb or "tease" your hair before you add the curls as well.
I guess I'm not sure how long your hair is? I thought it was shoulder length?

I'm thinking about swapping out for real flowers if I can get some the day before when my MOH and I pick up the flowers for the bridesmaids bouquets. I could try pinning some in the front as well.

To get the ends tighter, try end wraps. You can get them at practically any beauty supply store for cheap. They take a bit of practise, but produce wonderful results. The easiest way I've found to use them is to wet them (A quick spritz with a spray bottle) and fold them over the tips of your hair, vertically, as if your hair is being shut in a tiny book. Then wrap on the rollers as usual, and the wraps will stick to the rollers and keep the ends of your hair tight on the roller.
