Hair trial photos - feedback pls?

I'm currently planning on doing my own hair for the wedding. This is the 3rd time I've done the style, but I wasn't able to get decent shots of it without help. Day-of I'll have my mom and MOH with me to help make sure it's even and maybe get the ends to curl a little tighter.

I think some more "volume" would really make it look awesome. And I think a few pieces down and around your face would look great. Kinda like this:

I love that first picture! I had it in my inspiration folder, and if I had the hair to do it, that would be my top pick for style. How do I get mroe volume on it without brushing the curls into frizz (my hair is really thin)? I don't have pieces to pull out the front either :( I haven't had bangs since I don't remember when. I've got the little short pieces on the side I pulled out, but everything else would be too long. And I hate to cut a couple feet off even at the bangs just for 1 day, y'know?

I'm not sure how I could do the second picture's curls without cutting my hair short? Unless you meant just on the ends? I might could do that; I'd have to see if my MOH has a straightner and a curling iron, as I own neither. ;)

some setting lotion will help calm the frizzies, as will misting with a bit of hairspray just before finger combing the curls out.

There's a couple ways to acheive volume...

Here's a video of how to blow dry it to acheive volume:

Now, you would blow dry your hair before you add the curls so you wouldn't need to worry about brushing your curls (I have that problem too). And you can backcomb or "tease" your hair before you add the curls as well.

I guess I'm not sure how long your hair is? I thought it was shoulder length?

Last I measured it was 36" iirc. To make the style I took it about 1/3rd from the bottom and pinned it to the back of my head.

I can't blow dry before curling; I didn't curl it. That's just what my hair does air-dry?
