We booked our honeymoon and an Invitation Question~

So, we booked our honeymoon! We're taking a 4 night Disney cruise to the Bahamas and then staying at Disney World's Contemporary resort for 6 nights. I'm so pumped. Neither of us has cruised it up before, so I'm hoping this'll be an awesome choice. <3

In other news, I've (finally) gotten my STD's addressed. (I'm the girl with the Portal themed ( Read more... )

I'd send them in Mid-September, I think 2.5 months is plenty early, and I'd only say do it that early because it's close to the holidays so people might need a little extra notice. Almost all the standard etiquette says 8 weeks, and if you google "how early should I send out my wedding invitations" or something like that, you should be able to find a mountain of evidence supporting that.

My husband and I honeymooned in Disney World and it was awesome! We didn't do a cruise, but I have heard the Disney cruises are a lot of fun. The Contemporary is a very nice resort, we stayed at the Grand Floridian but in retrospect I wish we'd stayed at the Contemporary or the Polynesian. Definitely eat at The California Grill (try to get reservations during Wishes, the nightly fireworks show. There's an observation deck on the restaurant and they pipe the music in. The view is fantastic.), it was one of our favorite restaurants. The Wave is also great for breakfast, and one of the rare places where you can get a pretty health-conscious meal.

Mid-September is what I was hoping to do. :]
I'll just tell her to google it, then. Hopefully she'll agree. XD

Is the Grand Floridian nice? I'd love to stay there someday~ *_____* I heard the California Grill was good. I'll have to make reservations for there, then!

The Grand Floridian is really nice, but pictures seem to indicate that the rooms at the Contemporary are pretty much comparable, maybe a wee bit smaller. There are a lot of nice amenities at The Grand Floridian, but we spent most of our time either in our room or out and about, so the amenities didn't matter much.

Have you been to DW before? This was my second time and I found a lot of useful information online at places like allears.net.

Also, if you want a really fancy dining experience, I was really impressed by Victoria and Albert's at the GF. It was pricy, but a lovely, romantic experience and the food was surprisingly excellent.

We've been twice, but we've only stayed at the All Star resorts. I've always wanted to stay at the Contemporary or the GF. :3

I'll have to check that site out. I heard V&A's was good. That's the place you have to dress really nicely for, right?

Yep, they have a dress code and children under 10 are not allowed. So, it's definitely only a good place to go if you're wanting a fancy experience.

There is a -ridiculous- amount of information about restaurants and attractions online, so if there's anything you want to know, if can all pretty much be found. I found the actual Disney websites not that useful for planning, but the fan sites were crazily detailed and made it easier to look up things like fireworks schedules, restaurant menus, etc.
