Okay, so my FH and I have been set for years on a cake of different gaming consoles, like for instance the NES, game cube, ps3, and wii. I was sitting here thinking about what to do for a reception and thinking about the cake and the colors I'm leaning towards (green and gray), and what to do for centerpieces when I thought, well hey I could make each table's # have a game theme, like have a paper with the Legend of Zelda on it or classic Super Mario. BUT then I was thinking about it further and it just spiraled from there. I could have EACH TABLE have it's own character theme! Like one table be a Princess Peach table, and it have Princess Peach as the inspiration for that table, have sweet pink flowers and a picture of Peach as the centerpiece, and Luigi or Yoshi have green flowers and a picture of one of them as the table #. I'm really excited, but I want to know is that too much? Or would you walk into it having an awesome time, because I can only picture all of his friends going "sweet! I'm at the ....(let me think of one rea quick...)Zelda!.... table! Hahaha awesome! What other characters are here?" I mean don't misunderstand me, I'm not doing it for his friends cause I think it would be freaking sweet too, but my imagining that scenario is sort of reinforcing how cool I think it would be. But I digress, the point is I wouldn't mind having that if I thought it would go over well with everyone, because I also wouldn't mind having the traditional wedding reception too.... Hmmmmmmmmmmm

EDIT: Thanks to everyone who responded!! I really appreciate seeing everyone's differing viewpoints. I definitely think I'm going to name the tables character names but severely tone down on the individual character table themes I was thinking about doing before. yay!
