Hey WPers.
So, I graduated from college this past Saturday. I was a dependent on my mother's insurance for the duration of school, and lost her insurance coverage at midnight on my graduation day. 12:35am Sunday morning/Saturday night, I woke up with the most severe pain I have ever felt in my life, and ended up having to go to the ER.
Turns out I need my gallbladder out. I have to go in for a surgical consult Thursday morning. FH and I aren't supposed to get married until July 23, but I need insurance, so we think we are going to go get a courthouse wedding. He has spoken with his HR person, who has spoken with the insurance company, and since the problem is not more than 60 days old they are not going to penalize us as a "previously existing condition".
We don't want it to be a big deal, because we still aren't going to look at ourselves as "married" until July... we just need the paperwork sooner. So... tell me about the whole courthouse thing. Do we have to do vows? Can we just skip all of the ceremonious stuff and sign the paperwork?
