Anything else you'd like to tell us?: Ive been lurking here pretty much since I got engaged (January 26th this year) and I've been a bit hesitant to post anything for fear that someone i know will see it and all my wedding secrets will be exposed.. but I've decided to take the plunge so to speak
OK so I am pretty organised, my friends and family thought I was the only person who could organise a wedding in 3 weeks even though I had 11 months to do it all in!
Me:
Venue:
http://www.kingsbrook-sa.com It's pretty spectacular there, it's an estate winery and it's just got this beauitful tuscan feel to it, we're getting married in the garden
Flowers:
Ivory David Austin Roses (and pale pink for bridesmaid) Something akin to these
My Engagement Ring:
The wedding ring I've chosen but haven't got yet:
so it will look like this
Cake:
Like this but not with freesias - with david austin roses. The bottom layer is a rich fudgy chocolate mud cake and the top layer is a chocolate mousse cake.. all covered in thick white chocolate ganache
Hair:
Like the top of this but I would have my hair UP not down
Invitations:
I dont have a picture of them but they are similar to this but in a pearl/ivory colour.. and a little bit nicer ;)
Shoes:
At this point these - but mum will kill me if I dont get high heels for the actual ceremony (booo!)
And last but not least... the dress... which I adore so I'm hoping I won't get too much grief for it ;) or people telling me it looks hideous. It's quite unique, unlike anything I'd ever seen and I just got a feeling in my heart when I put it on and looked in the mirror - the girls in the shop told me a lot of brides love the dress but not a lot can pull it off. It's the designers favourite dress and it was recently the grand finale in a fashion parade we went to. It's very textured and layered and in person makes the most gorgeous swishy noise and all the different layers move independantly of one another making it look really southern belle and beautiful.. it really is exquisite and I don't believe the photos do it justice. I'm very petite also, so the store model dress was double the size of me.. im having it made to measure so in august i will have it fitting like a glove but for the sake of the pictures, the sales assistant was standing behind me pulling the dress tight. For some reason it photographs whiter than it is in these shots but it's actually a very rich creamy ivory colour. I tend to hate showing photos like this because i think photos from wedding dress shops never do the bride or the dress justice cos it doesnt have the flowers hair and makeup to bring it all to life.. but nonetheless...
I have yet to choose bridesmaids dresses (well DRESS since my MOH is my brother and I only have one bridesmaid other than him).. I'm sure there are many more things I've forgotten to mention .. oh well!
opinions welcome :)
