Yee Ha! 191 Days!!

Apr 08, 2009 22:21

This was originally going to be a 200-day progress post, but life happens and so it's become instead a 191-day progress post. (It occurs to me that with the pace life is moving, wedding day will be here BEFORE WE KNOW IT!) I feel like we are so far along!! And I keep saying, we've done all the crucial stuff - like, if worst comes to worst and we have to just buy a cake from Basha's, or get our flowers from the store and tie them ourselves, we're cool.

My mom arrived in town last night, and today we did a bunch of wedding stuff that boosted me along the road to ready-ville.

Things we've done:

Picked a venue for the ceremony and reception - Tohono Chul Park and Tea Room
Set a date - 10/17/09
Booked the officiant - my pastor
Booked the cocktail hour music - our friends' old time bluegrass band
Bought my gown - I Love Her!
Created a wedding budget
Picked all but one of our bridal party [FH is a little slow on deciding about his last groomsman]
Set up our wedding website
Set up hotel room blocks
Finalized guest list
Created, printed, and sent save the dates [except the email portion, which is going to our friends] - with lots of help from a great old friend
Booked a photographer - an apprentice who saved us a ton of dough
Figured out/designed centerpieces - my mom and I just did this today!
Found some garland/tulle to decorate the ceremony spot with
Met with the caterer to discuss options
Talked a LOT about the ceremony, the colors, the clothing, the music, the timeline, etc.
Picked a bridesmaid dress - J. Crew vintage blue dresses [although right now they're saying they won't get them in until June - is that too late for an Oct. wedding??]
Got an offer for help making invitations
Got an offer from a friend to bake biscotti for our wedding favors
Got an offer for a condo on the beach in Mexico for our honeymoon [here's hoping Mexico gets safer soon!!]

To do:
Book a florist
Book a cupcake baker
Figure out ceremony music
Set up reception music playlist
Get groom and groomsmen outfitted
Arrange transportation and honeymoon
Discuss ceremony with pastor
Stress out [ha ha!]

I am marrying my best friend and the love of my life, and I'm getting help from my family and friends! I am the luckiest girl in the world!! And, I'm out.
