My uncle is currently dying of liver cancer and will most likely pass on before my wedding in June. I would still like to put his name on the invitation (to him and his wife). Would it be insensitive to say Mrs. Smith and the Late Mr. Smith or Mr. & Mrs. Smith? I think it will be very sad for my aunt to receive an invitation without his name on it, since the event will be so close to his death. And by putting his name on the address line, I feel like I'm still inviting him and honoring him, although he won't be with us.
Would you put? -
Mr. & Mrs. Smith
Mrs. Smith and the Late Mr. Smith
Mrs. Smith
Thanks in advance for any advice.
