My friend (who has a young daughter) posted about a commercial she and her daughter recently saw on t.v. It was a commercial advertising this video game called "My Fantasy Wedding".
Yes, I do realize many of us look forward to (or fondly remember) our weddings. Some of us might even love the planning. Regardless, I personally find it sad that this stuff is being marketed to little girls, like the biggest thing for them to look forward to when they grow up is their wedding or even the notion that they have to get married in the first place. Perhaps it's a controversial thing to post in a wedding planning forum and perhaps I will get flamed for it, but I doubt I'm the only person who would find this sad. Also, it's one thing for the wedding industry to be marketed like crazy to adults, but I have to disagree with the idea of it being marketed to little girls. So, I guess I post this for the sake of possible discussion considering this is a wedding planning forum and this game is about that very topic.
