Quick Post - my first update evar!!
So this weekend was pretty good. Mr. Sea and I went down to Houston to visit his fam but also to look at venues. And we found a place! After looking unsuccessfully at about four places, we randomly decided to check out Vargo's. It is gorgeous and not ridiculously expensive, and we're 99% sure this is it. Thank God; I was getting worried we would have to just look around in Tulsa and find somewhere. We have a budget of about $10,000 and a guest list of only about 60 people (including us, haha), so things are on a small but reasonable scale. One quick note to any Houston ladies:
- The Alden hotel is lovely, but expensive. If you're having a small, upscale wedding, this is a good place to look. Warning: pushy salespeople.
- The Majestic Metro is this gorgeous retro-theater style place, but if you just pop by randomly in the middle of the day, it will be closed. They are not open unless they are having an event. As we found out the hard way.
- Brady's Landing is in a really ugly location. the shipyard is nowhere near as romantic as you might think. That is all.
And now, I am going to do some tidying and get to bed. ^_^ That's right, I (try to) get to bed before 2 these days. Amazing what only 12 credits and a lack of baggage will do for your circadian rhythms.
...Ooh, did I mention I ordered my dress? No, I did not. I ordered my dress! It is this one, and although it's white I love it. My shoes and accessories will be red. The dress and veil should get in at the end of November. So yeah! Stuff is finally getting done. For a long time part of me felt like it wasn't real because we weren't yet plunking down money for real things. But now we are (oh, are we), and things are taking concrete shape in my mind. I'm so excited to be planning things now!

ETA: Oh, and I think we can get married on my birthday. July 26, 2009! Which would be the absolute best birthday present ever.
