First, the proofs for our cake toppers have come in. They're cute! She still needs to add my FH's goatee....but I like them a lot! The third one is smaller...it's my son, who's 5...and his feet are dangling over the side of the cake. :)
Next, tonight my Prayer Flags came in. I'm using them in a non-traditional way. Normally, they're scrap rags with prayers of prosperity, peace, joy, health, love, and happiness on them. They're found high in the mountains of Tibet and are traditionally hung to signify the start of a new journey, or a change in life, like a baby or a marriage. They blow in the wind, and over time become tattered and the words fade, which signifies that the prayers have gone into the wind. When you see them your intention to pray for, and work for the welfare of others is supposed to be rekindled. Instead of hanging them, I cut the flags apart (they come in strings of 25). And I'm tying an individual flag around each of the programs with the story of their significance. So, instead of the prayers just going into the wind with us, we're sending the prayers home with each of our guests. :) An extra bonus is that these were actually ordered from a company that is dedicated to helping the women of the remote villages of Tibet earn money.
