So I finally gave in to the pressure and have decided to do a wedding invitation insert for the following info:
-Directions to the ceremony and reception hall (same place)
-Info on the hotels were we have blocked rooms
-Our phone numbers for questions, comments and wedding jokes
-An alergy alert/special food request info
The last one is a little weird I know please stay with me here I could use your help. We are only serving one meal a chicken and shimp surf and turf kind of thing and our cake has peanut butter and chocolate. Now, I understand that not everyone can eat shrimp, peanut butter, and chocolate, nor would they want to, we have veggies and a few that keep kosher on our guestlist as well. We know all of this and my mother is willing (and more than able) to handle any special request for food. My problem: How do I word this on the info sheet?
Should I just say we are serving shrimp, peanut butter and chocolate for dinner, if this is going to make you blow up like a blimp and end up in the hosptial let mother of the bride know so we can arrange something else for you. I don't know, that doesn't really have a good ring to it. I don't want to detail the entire menu, really who cares what we are eating four months from now, but I want to let people know we are willing to help them get fed that night and NOT end up in the hospital.
How do I say this? Or better how did YOU say this?
