Last weekend Chris, my mom and I went to check out the Stone Mountain Arts Center in Brownfield, ME. I loved it there but, I seem to be the only one. My mom didn't say anything one way or the other, but that's more than enough for me. I know she didn't like it, otherwise she would have said something. I think his parent's are nosy and want to be more of a part of things... I don't mind involving them but anytime I have an idea, they're the first to make faces or say something. His family is fairly religious - both his mom and dad grew up in very devout Catholic families and they like to do things, especially weddings, by the book. My family is very eccentric and has no restrictions. I was considering dressing the boys in jeans, button ups, blazers and black cowboy boots and his mom about had a cow. After his mom's freak out Chris decided he wanted to wear a tux, he thought it was a better look. Up until then he really liked the idea of jeans and blazers.

I'm going to try and give Chris the benefit of the doubt and hope that these are his real opinions and he's not just going with whatever his parents want. If this keeps going on, I'm probably going to strangle him...

Thinking about it... I should have known things like this would happen - His family was more than a little surprised by my wearing flip flops with my ballgown to prom. I can't wait to see what will happen when they find out I'm wearing pink Lucchesse ostrich cowboy boots under my wedding gown! THAT is one thing no one will take away from me, not even my own mom! Lol
