Alright so Im going to make this one short since my mom told me a few hours ago that she misses me and wants to spend time with me and not me with the laptop. I guess I've been getting carried away with certain things I've been doing. So needless to say there are still a few things I need to take care of and then I'm off until I finally pass out.
So, have I mentioned that I love the fact that the bathroom is finally done? Of course it's been done poorly and it makes me think of Holmes on Homes, "Make it right Mike", and boy would he be pissed at the shoddy craftsmanship. But at least we have running water and can easily dispose of our . . .waste.
Today I watched something that made me rethink something I said in my previous entry. Yes I tend to stalk people but I don't memorize everything about them. I'm not creepy, well not like that anyway. Take from that what you will. I am very tired of trying to explain myself to people who in the end don't care. So in a nice and easy way "Fuck you". The end!
On another note I spent lots of time this morning jamming out to my tunes. I have to say I love to listen to music and sing, rather loudly and admittedly off key when I do so. I dance around and even pretend I'm holding my own rock concert with some of my favorite people cheering me on. It's awesome and I have a blast. It's like masturbating, and just as fun and relaxing for me. Over share? Too bad, I'm not making you read this am I?
I am currently reading , aside from the mountain of fantasy books I have beside me, the Texas Drivers Handbook. I must say I'm fascinated by the laws and the different types of driver's licenses and how they apply to different people. I won't bore you with details but I find it endlessly intriguing. Ahh. . . knowledge.
Oops, I think my geek is showing. Speaking of, I will include a lovely, and lengthy, post I made about MTV's latest "reality" show called "My Life As Liz" it has caused me many a moment of good old fashioned roflmao-ing.
-Note- Keep in mind this was posted on the MLAL discussion boards on facebook. When I'm passionate about something I don't hold back.
I see a lot of people on here talking about whether or not this show is scripted. While I'm not saying it is or isn't I have made some observations that I thought some of us would like to discuss.
While I am on team Liz and the rest of the beloved "Nerd Herd" I am going to try to keep a logical point of view on the following.
I have watched all the bonus clips on the MTV site for MLAL and found something interesting. Cori keeps saying she's not really a mean person and she wouldn't be rude to you if you came up to her, but people just take her the wrong way.
Well if that's true wouldn't you think it would be a wise idea to maybe try a different approach with people? Maybe thinking before you speak?
Her attitude towards this leads me to think that maybe she doesn't care about what people think of her. But at the same time she makes her hair an unnatural looking color blond, tans herself, wears makeup, and popular styles of clothes. So maybe it's a little of both? Maybe she does care but only to a certain extent.
Further more the comments made by both Liz, Tori, and Cori can be confusing. Since we're tuning in for her Senior year Liz has obviously been the way she is now for a while. But what exactly happened that made her change? See I'd be fine if it was a slight change or a mild change in appearance and behavior. But this wasn't according to all those who witnessed the event. This was life changing. And being an admittedly overly curious person I want to know the ins and outs on both sides of the story. (Think of the movie Vantage Point- while I never see it, it gets my point across as to why it's important to get other people's points of view on a situation, only then can you piece together something that would be as close to the truth as possible).
From my experience you don't go from being a perky popular kid to someone who feels like an outcast and hates all their former friends in a day. Something happened, something big. But both sides are kinda pointing the fingers at each other. Which leads me to the conclusion that in reality everyone has some blame for the feud. Cori and Tori seem to hint towards it being something Liz did to Cori, while Liz hints and even says that it was them who did malicious things to Liz herself. So which is it? I think it's both.
But! There is no proof of that right now in the series. Granted we are only on episode three but here are a few things: Cori keeps talking bad about Liz to anyone who will listen to her. She talks down to a lot of people, and has made fun of others on various occasions. She tries to say she's not really as mean as it seems on the show but why would you portray yourself as that kind of person to begin with while they were filming? (that is of course if the show isn't in fact scripted, which I'm on the fence about) Also we have evidence that Cori went out of her way to by flowers and send them to Liz anonymously. Personally? I wouldn't have waisted my time or money on someone I apparently loathe and detest as much as Cori seems to about Liz.
On the other side: Liz has been shown as basically just trying to make it through each day and experience alive. While she has made her feelings about Cori vehemently clear I have yet to see her actually do anything to her. But she is just as guilty of talking badly behind people's backs. Granted it is usually to other people who feel the same way.
I think it's all rather interesting. Now then my next subject: Taylor. She seems sweet and genuine and not afraid to try new things, evidence of this in the first episode. She has admitted to being on good friends level with some members of the "Nerd Herd" such as Cameron. She even gets along with his sister. She thinks Sully is funny and seems to admire Liz a great deal. My problem is this however: She has said many complimentary things about people from Liz to Bryson. But I haven't heard her say anything nice about Cori and Tori, not yet at least. In the mean time Cori and Tori have said nothing but good things about Taylor.
Also while watching the show there are instances where it's clear that Taylor doesn't agree with the actions of the other "Blond Squad" members. She isn't even afraid to voice her opinions publicly. So here's my thing:
If you don't like what someone is doing because you thinks it's mean and deceitful, hateful and malicious. Why are you still friends with them?!?!
Granted, I agree that people have every right to like and not like someone. But if you're friends with someone who goes out of their way to humiliate someone else that you yourself see nothing wrong with, even have admitted to admiring, what does that say about you? Yes you don't like it but you're still friends. This is not as if it were a bad habit like picking your nose. This is a personal vendetta. Something she puts forth energy, time, and even the one time money towards.
To me? It's almost like Taylor is saying it's fine. But that's my opinion.
Moving on. Bryson. An interesting guy. Seems sweet, even though I feel like at times he doesn't want to be? Granted I agree and concur with him that his and Liz's relationship is painfully complicated. Not knowing all the dynamics of it, possibly never will, I still am not sure if they would ever have anything more than a friendship. Granted Liz on the show has romantic feelings towards him. I give her props for keeping things on a friendship level with him (at least from what I saw). I also give him props for being there for her even when he probably wasn't expecting to be involved as much as he was (speaking of the talent show episode). It's like a push pull situation. At any rate he seems like the wild card of the bunch since I'm never really sure how he's going to react to a situation. I mean he didn't have to do what he did for Liz.
The Nerd Herd! My favorite people in the show. Only because I was friends with a lot of people like them through out my school years. Still am in fact. They are just nerds after my own heart. I don't really have much to say about them, just that they are awesome. I think it's funny that they were unintentionally able to convince Liz to even sign up for the talent show. However it is a bit unfair that all the ego boosting was left up to Bryson.
I did that just to save the ones who might not want to read all of that. It is long and filled with endless analyses and observations.
I wish I could think of something else to say but I can't. Well other than I have been watching Fringe, I <3 Vampires, My Alibi, and working on role play stuff today. I'm torn between being happy it's Friday and being worried. I'm happy because that means that D, my brother, is off the next two days and we may be able to do things, like get my mother's ID.
You may not think much of it, but I think my life is pretty interesting.
