Had a pretty good weekend. Saturday was just full of chores that we needed to get done. Sunday, went over to a friend's house to help them celebrate their son's birthday.
artana made a "Aang from Avatar" cake as a present. She did a great job for a last minute rush. Artana surprised me that day by requesting a babysitter for that night. We went to the movies and saw Tropic Thunder which was funnier than I thought it'd be. I think that everyone hated that movie needs to remember that it was meant to be a parody movie and jab a little fun at all the action movies that come out.

Monday, we were supposed to go to Kennywood, but that fell through. Settled for an easy day at South Park. Loaded the boys' bikes in the Vue and I loaded up Zoe in the cougar and we drove out there. The youngest biked all afternoon and I took Zoe to the dog park with the eldest. Zoe was awesome at the dog park. I walked in, kept her on the leash for a few minutes and then I just let her go off leash. She ran around with all the other dogs for a few before retreating large tree for shading (which is where everyone (owners including) were hanging out). For the most part, she would run off an explore, then make a close circle near me, run off an explore and make another close circle near me. There were no issues with other dogs, a few of them actually ran around following her and she ran around following some others.
There was one could-have-been-an-incident, but it was quickly nipped in the bud. The eldest was running back to me because he wondered off after a wiener dog. Zoe saw him and started running towards him and another dog from the shaded area barked/growled and looked like he was going to intercept her, but another guy and myself barked our respective dog names and both of them came to a screetching halt and stared back at us unexpectedly. I can only guess two scenarios that happened, either the larger dog thought it should be the dominant one to decide who gets to be predator towards the small running boy and was going to attack Zoe for stepping out of line or the larger one was protecting/defending the eldest. I know Zoe wouldn't hurt the eldest at all, so, I can't answer for the other dog.
Either way, I'm proud of Zoe. She's come a long way and she'll be an awesome dog when she sheds some of her puppiness (not too much I hope). She's funny to watch at times. She's a beautiful dog and I'm no longer worried about not having socialized her with other dogs. We'll probably get a 2nd dog sometime soon. I don't worry about Zoe around the kids at all, but I do worry about the kid next door as he tends to taunt her through my fence. I keep a close eye on that and I give subtle warnings and I'm loud enough so that his mother keeps tabs on them as well.

Later that evening, we invited
calmfacade over for steak 'n beers. Had a good time b.s.ing and went over to his place to give his car a jump since he mentioned the battery died.

Work is slow for me at the moment. I have nothing but the occasional bug fixes to work on. Owner of the company got slammed with consulting for trade shows and what not and the rest of the company seems to be in down cycle mode. I have no fear of losing my job anytime soon, so don't fret. Been using the time to do R&D or look over future specifications. Don't know what else to do (aside from screwing around).

My thoughts on Google Chrome is mixed. I was rather vocal when
Safari came out because I believe that the last thing we need is another fskin' browser. Remember, I do web development for a living. This effects me because I have to test a lot more to make sure that everything is working. My initial thoughts on Google Chrome is "You mfers..." which is no different than my thoughts on Safari really. After reading Scott McCloud's comic explaining Google Chrome, I've had a little time to reflect on what it all means.
When Safari came out, it did nothing different. It was just "another browser" - there was nothing earth shattering at all. Google Chrome is actually trying to be a different browser. I'm not too crazy about them gutting some good features of Mozilla for their own usage, but hey... open source is open source. Google Chrome is also going to be open source as well. At this point, I'm wondering why Google just hasn't purchased Mozilla and been done with it, but I guess Mozilla (the company) has become somewhat bloated. Google does funnel money through Mozilla (and, don't think they don't) thanks to the advertisement and searches through Mozilla's little search box at the upper left corner. Although, Google stealing developers from Mozilla could be seen as a purchase-over-time. :P
Anyway, sigh, another browser. I guess I'll do a better review when I can actually download it and play around with it.
