“Cutting For A Cure” is to raise awareness and educate urban communities about the various diseases that plague us as a whole. "Cutting For A Cure" is a hair cutting marathon (cut-a-thon) that takes place over a 48-hour period and provides free screenings along with follow up treatment.
There will be seminars on various types of cancers, free health screening vans to test for Asthma, Breast cancer, Colon & Prostate cancer, Cholesterol, Diabetes, Hepatitis C, High Blood Pressure, Kidneys, and Rapid H.I.V. During the 48 hours there will be celebrity guests, healthy snacks, a variety of films, workshops, literature and plenty of giveaways.
when: June 25-27 2010 beginning at 7am
Why: shedding light on the disparities in health services to urban communities through early detection
Noelli Center will be distributing/ donating Diabetes log books and literature for event ****
