I just woke up, and I was having the most interesting, creepy dream before my dad came in to tell me to get to it (I have to clean the house today).

I was on an island with a group of people (I recall that there were certain people among them - Will C., Rebeccah H., Jenna S., Nikki S.,), with my dad and my theater director, Mrs. H., leading the way. We were, apparently, searching for something, some sort of treasure, and the whole island gave me an extremely uneasy feeling.

More importantly, and here’s the interesting part, my good friend Brad T. was with us, and weirdly enough, he was blind. I don’t know how he got that way or why he was with us if he was blind, but there you go. And everyone else kept forgetting that they needed to make sure he hadn’t fallen behind or been EATEN BY GIANT MOTHEREFFING SHARKS.

Did I mention the giant sharks? Oh, yeah. Well, on the trip, Mrs. H had brought her dog, Peaches, and we had my cousin’s little dog, Scrappy. A lot of our travel had to do with wading through deep water, and in the water, we had to play the dodge-the-shark game. It sounds funny now, but it’s not. It was really tense, and several times we had to lift the dogs out of the water to save them from the snapping sharks.

At one point, I remember Brad and I were trailing on the back, and I had to yank him under a tree as a shark snapped at him and it started to rain. I was constantly guiding him around as he made sarcastic remarks about being blind and how the others were ‘tards for not slowing down and giving him time.

Then we got to this house. Now, I dream of tall houses with a million stares fairly often (never the same house, but they always have a lot of stairs). This house was set in the middle of a clearing somewhere on the island, and when we got inside, there were black Labrador retriever dogs in the lobby room, just milling about. They weren’t going to hurt us, so we moved on.

I distinctly remember that this house was abandoned (except for the dogs). There was no one in it, but for some reason, it was immaculately clean. There was not a speck of dust anywhere, and the place looked good as new. (Random detail - despite that, a cockroach ran up the stairs while I was on them).

We got up all the stairs (with me guiding Brad the whole time), and we found all these rooms, waiting for us to use, and Dad told us that we would be safe here (again, the whole island was creepy and made me uneasy). I remember guiding Brad up the stairs as Nikki said, “Maybe we ought to wait for Brad, guys,” and Brad said something like, “Oh, good, they’re finally learning something today.”

Brad and I ended up having to share a bed because they took all the good ones, so once we got our stuff set up, I started looking around, and I noticed out the window that there was a graveyard in the eastern part of the yard. I wanted to tell my Dad how scared I was, but I was afraid I would provoke the spirits in the house.

And that was my weird dream.
