Ron's *other* hat
So, I dug back through screencaps of GoF looking for inspiration since I'm tossing around the idea of doing a hat display, and I realized that I had some better caps of that dark hat Ron wears in PoA.
I've been pondering the digital grading and come to the conclusion that the hat is likely black and grey or grey/blue (mostly because it looks blue when the image is graded blue and green when the image is graded green/yellow). But what is really stumping me is the colorwork. Other than the readily apparent MC (black) stripe at the base of the crown and the edging which I'm willing to bet is crocheted on afterwards, and a thin stripe here or there, it looks entirely random to me. It looks, actually, like self-patterning yarn, or near self-patterning yarn. Does anyone else see this, or am I just nuts?
The other option is that there actually are designs, and I'm just not seeing them. In which case I think it'd be fun to make a stripe of lions around the bottom, but that's just me being silly.
