It's February!
We did a family trip to see Early Man at the cinema (because Aardman) - it is def worth seeing, and totally has extra layers when you live in the North West (I also work with someone who has seen a whole bunch of Nick Park's dad's models, because Lancashire can occassionally be small). It was funny and I managed not to get past the fact that totally isn't vaguely prehistory ;)
Discovery. Urgh, Discovery
So this whole show just feels like it has been 'how many tropes can we do in the minimum numbers of episodes'. I am semi-grateful that Lorca was actually a bad guy and did get his just deserts. I am disappointed that Landry we had wasn't also a mirror verse person, because it means she was a terrible person in both.
I am....kinda done with the gay stuff? Like ghost!Hugh is semi good, but my god, he got fridged and kill your gays'd. He didn't get killed via bike accident (but he's a guy, so that would have been a first only bbc lesibans have bike accidents) but he got one of the most stupid deaths. I mean he is apparently the only real doctor on the ship (but isn't the actual COM? I honestly have no idea), he got killed via the stupid Voq storyline (URGH) and to further his boy's man pain.
If Tilly, via the glowly spark, is pregnant with Hugh, I will write angry messages. If she is pregnant at all due to the glowly spark, I will write angry messages.
I have liked the Michael storylines, her storylines (apart from the sadly Voq'd bits) has been consistent and interesting, but the rest is a bit...hit and miss.
It feels like the finale will either be more time travel to undo the lost war...or some deux ex machina.....or a long ep with no real end because there is a second series. Real!Lorca may pitch up, or get explained? Or mirror!Tilly? Maybe we lost because the Discovery from mirror!verse hates the federation.....
We'll see.
Anddddd in other shows. The Librarians, season four. o.o (Amazon has it now! so I've paid for the season, because I always prefer to do that if I can....)
Spoilers again
It needs to be pointed that I have been reading slowly, a epic report that is depressing, and went to watch this ep as an up.
AND JENKINS DIED.
I......urgh. I loved last week's episode, it's the only one from this season that I can honestly say that. Most of what they've done with Jenkins made me.....uncomfortable and wasn't consistent with the previous seasons (where he did eat, and drink, and seemed to sleep.....not to mention the whole aging thing.....which now makes no sense??)
Cassandra has also been occ for me - like beyond what I would expect for someone going from having a timebomb in their head to freedom. Ezekiel has been mixed. Jake and Eve have been mostly in character though, so semi bonus?
This episode though..... I saw some of it coming, and it was better than previous offerings this year, but, I don't think I would be invested in the show without Jenkins? Given the way they've altered Cassandra and the slightly uneven Ezekiel ness.
So I hope they fix his death? Part of me suspects not, because they may have decided, or John L may have wanted to leave? I have no idea? I'm kinda dreading the answer.
I have liked Rachel's version of Nicole mind, though the whole storyline is....frustrating? And they cremated Jenkins stupidly fast o.O *cries*
Will just have to see....
And I have a straight seven days of early mornings (work meeting on my day off, so...not so much a day off), so I am going to be utterly dead on my feet come friday night o.o
