i. "Out! You lose!" Rio yells after dismissing Alan and Darren at a game of table tennis. Darren merely groans but Alan throws his racket across the room.
"No one can beat me!" Rio proclaims.
"Hey, you didn't beat them all on your own," Nemanja Vidic (the other half of the team) says.
"Huh?"
"...Never mind."
Just then, Gary comes up and says, "Scholesy and I'll play."
"And we'll win," Paul adds.
An hour later,
"Out!" Rio yells, "We win!"
"It wasn't out!" Gary yells as loudly as he can.
"Let's just do it over," Paul says, before Gary can use some of his best language.
This time, Gary hits the ball to the far corner of the table. It's nearly out, but Nemanja reaches it just in time.
"Yeah!" Rio yells, grabbing his partner and kissing him.
"We win! We win! We win!", they both yell, as Paul holds a furious Gary Neville back.
ii. Ole walks down the street, with his kids, who are dressed as superheroes. They spot the ballerina and grim reaper holding Paul's hands and run off with them.
"Hey," Ole says.
"Yet another Halloween..." Paul muses.
"Yup. Every year the costumes get more and more gruesome," Ole says, referring to an odd creature with dismembered organs that had just walked up to them. He turns around to see a vampire, who looks the "creature" up and down.
"Cris?" Paul asks the vampire.
"Aw, how did you know it was me?"
"Lucky guess," Paul says, rolling his eyes.
The "creature" limps slightly, prompting Ole to ask, "Wayne?"
"Oh crap," Wayne says, spotting Colleen, who is out with her younger cousins.
She stops at the sight of him, narrows her eyes, and asks, "Wayne?"
"Uh...who?"
"You're trick or treating??" she asks. As Wayne opens his mouth to answer, she says, "You know what, never mind," and walks off, shaking her head.
Cristiano laughs but stops when the "creature" waves an organ at him. They both run off, leaving Paul and Ole to walk behind their children, occasionally holding hands.
iii. "Hey Cris, let's go shopping," Ryan says one day after training.
Cristiano's eyes light up, "Shopping? Sure."
"Good," Ryan says, smirking, "We're going grocery shopping."
Cristiano's face falls."Why do you need me?"
"To carry the bags."
Cristiano groans and is just about to follow, when he spots the rest of the team exiting the training grounds. Grinning, he walks over to them.
Half an hour later,
Ryan navigates his way through the grocery store, with Cristiano right behind him. He turns into the vegetable section, only to be ambushed by Wayne Rooney. "Hey there, Ryan!"
"Are you following me?"
"Cristiano invited us."
"Us? There's more of you?"
Wayne steps back to reveal most of the Manchester United squad, all of whom are chatting loudly, taking samples of free food, and laughing at disgruntled customers.
Ryan, for the first time, understands what Gary has to put up with during training.
iv. "What are we doing here?" Patrice asks, standing at the entrance to the theme park.
"We," Edwin says, pointing to Ryan, Paul, Ole, Carlos, and himself, "brought our kids here." He stops when he sees Darren, Wes, Owen, Michael, Rio, and of course, Nemanja Vidic, all walking towards him.
"Hey guys," Rio says enthusiastically. "Thought we'd join you."
Just then, Cristiano and Wayne arrive, dragging a disgruntled Gary Neville.
"Okay, we're all here," Cristiano says. "Let's go!"
Wayne and Cristiano both skip off towards the ticket and Ryan says, "I'm not walking with those two..."
6 hours later,
Ryan, Paul, Ole, Carlos, and Edwin are forced to drag their children out (kicking and screaming) of the theme park. Then, they go back in and drag out the rest of the team, who are all covered in soda, cotton candy, and ice cream and are claiming they've 'never had this much fun before'.
v. Patrice ducks as a shoe flies towards him, but nevertheless finishes his rendition of Whitney Houston's, "I Will Always Love You."
"Your turn," he says, handing the mike to Gary.
"I bet you're regretting joining the team," Michael says to Carlos and Owen, who seem to have been left dumbstruck by karaoke night.
They are spared from answering, for Gary had just begun serenading a thoroughly uncomfortable Paul Scholes with what sounded like, "My Heart Will Go On."
Everyone laughs hysterically and Ryan says, "I wish David could see this."
As Gary finishes with a glass shattering falsetto, Paul announces, "I've been scarred for life."
