Thank you, Natalie Portman, for saving the role of women in this list from being a pastiche of love interests, killer androids, and nuns. ...Although that's a pretty great combo, really.

The Professional. She was only a little girl at the time! But, like Anna Paquin, she distinguished herself at a young age.

Alas, unlike Paquin, she peaked with The Professional and has been terrible in everything ever since. (She nearly ruined both Closer and V for Vendetta for me.)

...although to be fair I've heard really good things about her performance in Garden State, which I haven't seen.

IAWTC. V For Vendetta is pretty much the only thing I can watch her in. She completely ruined Garden State for me.
